The event was themed, “Peace with the Environment Begins with Me,” and was held at the Ratana Panya Koun Damrey pagoda in Koun Damrey village, Steung Trong commune, Sala Krao district, Pailin province.
Presiding over the festivities was His Excellency Thou Phea, the deputy provincial governor, and Mr. Sar Daniel, the deputy director of Peace Bridges Organization. Representatives from three faith groups were there, including Buddhists, Muslims, and Christians. Additionally, provincial department directors and authorities and Pailin Forest Administration officials participated. As many as 300 students and community members helped to plant a total of 1550 trees at the pagoda.
